Winters in Assam are harsh. I remember how much I hated waking up early in the morning to catch my bus. Crawling out of the bed was a punishment in itself. A sweater, jacket, veil or a cap and stockings were not sufficient in keeping us warm. Nights are long and I would usually crave for a bowl of warm soup and anything non-vegetarian. Well winters here in the UAE are pleasant. Yesterday it drizzled and I quickly made this simple dish. The layers are thick slices of potato, kebabs, tomatoes and Cheddar cheese. What do you crave during winter?? *I used the same meatballs recipe(link in bio) for the kebabs. Just shape them as desired and shallow fry. Make the layers and bake for 15-20 minutes. Sandwiches in any form are my little ones current favorite. He is a fan of the turkey and cheese toastie from Costa. But he is happy to eat sandwiches with the grilled marks.
