When I moved to the UAE, I got introduced to Hummus. A dip made with chickpeas and a handful of ingredients. I fell in love with it. I grew up on chickpea stews and pilafs but the same chickpeas when blended. Lead you into a whole new direction. Hummus is addictive and easy to whip up. It’s filling and adds variety to your meals. There are so many different ways to include it in your meal. Here are a few assorted recipes from my archive to give you some ideas.

This hummus was the star on my son’s birthday last year. I served pink hummus with a few veggies batons in individual paper bowls, and everyone loved it.

Spread it on a toast to make your breakfast enjoyable. The sweetness of pumpkin makes it unique, and the texture is gorgeous.
3. Green Hummus with herbs
It’s my recent discovery with some about to wilt herbs. It is light and fresh and has a gorgeous color.
Make it a part of your Mezze platter and impress our guests. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients
- Chickpeas 200 gms
- Parsley ¼ cup
- Basil ¼ cup
- Mint leaves handful
- Garlic pods 3
- Tahini 1 tbsp
- Olive oil 2 tbsp
- Salt and pepper
Method
Blend everything into a fine puree. Add water/aqua faba as needed to get the desired texture.
Apart from using it as a dip for my starters, I love adding different components to my hummus to create Hummus bowls. It’s like a complete meal served in a bowl with hummus as the star that brings everything together.

Choose your type or flavor of hummus and the way you want to serve it. I hope this post helps you look at hummus as not just a dip but in a whole new light.
