Diwali is tomorrow, and I need to dig into sweets for no reason. This year I will avoid the regular traditional sweets for a dessert that is healthy and is traditional. Bhapa Doi, or steamed yogurt, is a Bengali dessert made with yogurt and can be flavored with seasonal jaggery. With the pumpkin season in full swing, I decided to bring the best of both worlds together. So, I offer you Pumpkin Bhapa Doi or Steamed yogurt.
Here is the recipe for a warm creamy latte with sweetness from pumpkin and cinnamon. I had two cups of this delicious spiced pumpkin latte in one sitting.
I have been on a baking spree, from cookies to muffins to cakes and finally brownies. These chocolate banana brownies were a request from the little guy. They are moist, dense, and perfect little treats for any occasion.

Vadas are a massive hit in my family. I love serving them for breakfast with chutney, with tea, and at times in lunchboxes.
I love making kebabs with cheese. Even though the usual choice is meat, fish, or veggies for a change, I tried halloumi cheese as the hero. Cheese is a relatively easy ingredient to work with, and it takes less time compared to others. I usually use Indian cottage cheese for making vegetarian kebabs. However, for a middle-eastern-inspired meal, I choose Halloumi. Honey and thyme roasted halloumi kebabs tasted perfect with couscous and salad.
