When you want to start the day on a healthy yet delicious note, Poha or flattened rice is my favorite savory breakfast which is light and keeps me full for a long time. Occasionally I make poha as a snack with tea; the recipe remains more or less the same. Here I am sharing the whole package – poha and tea.
Sometimes the simplest of dishes are more fulfilling. Spaghetti with roasted cherry tomatoes and basil is one such dish and my go-to pasta when I am not in the mood to cook an elaborate meal. I love the simplicity and freshness of this pasta.
Sweets are part of our Indian culture and tradition; halwa is a quick, easy way to make special occasions. A couple of years ago, I created mango malai laddoo (Indian sweet) for a special occasion, and this year it had to be halwa. The leftover mango puree, which I had frozen, went into my halwa. Mango Kesar halwa has to be hands down my current favorite.

Here is a yogurt-based dessert that is light and perfectly sweet on the palate. Shrikhand is a healthy dessert loved by everyone. The rich flavors of saffron and cardamom make it unique. This dessert is my little contribution to the 75th Independence day celebration of India.
never met a soul who dislikes watermelon. We love snacking on it as a fruit or in a salad. The juice gets loads of makeovers with fruits, soda, or juice of different fruits. It is compatible with different fruit juices, especially citrus, and works beautifully. I love using the clear juice in mocktails. Watermelon margarita and cosmopolitan are a few of my favorites.
It’s wonderful to meet people from different cultures and learn a bit about them. It opens our minds and helps us grow. I find food as an interesting way to connect. Recently I got introduced to a unique dip called muhammara made with roasted red bell peppers and walnuts.
